Web Design Onboarding Checklist
You have likely come across multiple websites and web design agencies promising to create the website of your dreams.
The problem with finding and hiring a web designer is you don’t really know what you are getting most of the time.
Each website I work on is different but there are some standard processes I like to follow.
I have created a website design process and procedures page to help you understand what is needed when working on a website design project. It can also help ensure that we are on the same page when it comes to expectations for the project. The following is a suggested process and procedures page for designing a website:
Define the project scope and objectives
This includes identifying what the website’s purpose is, who the target audience is, what content will be included on the site, and what features and functionality are required.
Create visual designs for the website
This step involves developing a cohesive and visually appealing look for the site that aligns with the project’s objectives and target audience.
Build the website
This includes coding the front-end HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, as well as developing any custom back-end functionality.
Content strategy
This includes writing all the text, sourcing or creating images, and putting together any other media that will be used on the site.
SEO
Optimize the website for search engines (SEO). This step involves making sure the website’s code and structure are optimized for Google and other major search engines.
Test the website
Once the site is built, it’s important to test it thoroughly to ensure there are no bugs or errors. Once everything is confirmed to be working as expected, the site can then be launched for the public to view and use.
Launch the website and promote it
Once the website is complete and live, it’s time to start promoting it to drive traffic and conversions.
Analyze website data and make improvements
Ongoing analysis of website data will help identify areas for improvement so that the site can be continuously optimized.
Maintain and update the website
Even after a website is launched, there is still work to be done in terms of maintaining it and keeping it up-to-date. This may involve adding new content, making design or code changes, and troubleshooting any issues that arise.
You can rest assured that I will take care of every step involved in designing your website. I have over 25 years of experience in web design and development, and have created many successful websites for a variety of businesses. I am confident that I can create a high-quality website that meets your needs and exceeds your expectations.
